STUDENT REPORT: Today, all of this years student reps came and Thank us for allowing them to attend our meeting. Each one of them seem to enjoy our meetings and told us about there favorite meeting of the year. Thank you girls for coming and telling us about the happenings at the High School, you all did a great job.
CASHMERE ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS FOR 2008: This year we awarded $14,500.00 in scholarship. The Vocational Scholarship went to Amanda Craig. The Academic Scholarship to Kyle Kenoyer, Jacqueline Cloake and Ashley Tarver. Two Cashmere Royalty Scholarship, Kaitlyn Reiman and Ruby Sanchez.
ANNOUNCEMENTS; The Mariners game with the Leavenworth Club is July 23rd by bus. Contact Carla Carey to sign up.
Also, you can place your order for strawberries again this year with any Leavenworth Rotarian.
Our new sign for the picnic shelter won approval from the board and is going to be ordered. The ribbon cutting event for the picnic shelter, will be on Saturday during Founders Day Weekend
Kris Taylor announced that will be roasting President Jim on June 25th at 6:00. It will be at the center and there will not be a noon meeting that day. Sign up sheet will be passed around next week.
Mike Phillips reported that the new playground equipment that we and several businesses donated money for is in its final stages of installation. Our contributed amount for that was $9,000.00
Barb Dronen reminded everyone that our Rotary Auction is set for November 1st. So start collecting items.
HAPPY BUCKS: Chuck and Barb were happy that there son is graduating and that he also got a job. Sara found out that there future grandchild will be a girl
FINES: Mike Phillips for being related to Jerry and his grandkids. Joan and Cheryl were in the paper this week.
POT DRAWING: Tony Banks from Leavenworth won the $1:00. There are only about 6 cards left and a pot of somewhere around $977.00 the lucky winner will get 1/2 of that.
PROGRAMS: This week Paul introduced Steve Harden and Josh Talbot who are planning a mission trip to Ethiopia in honor of Theo. Theo was a wonderful person and a student of CHS who had a fatal glider accident a couple of years ago. He was from the Ethiopia area. There are about 7 people going back there to do some mission work and help people in Theo's honor. They will be leaving July 30th and returning August 18th. We wish them all a wonderful trip and experience. They promised they will be coming back to our club and give us a detail report of there trip.
